Where passion meets purpose – that’s where you’ll find me. By day (and admittedly many nights), I channel my creative energy into nonprofit work, weaving together communication, marketing, and resource development strategies while helping shape organizational direction. It’s more than a job; it’s a calling that allows me to make a tangible difference.
My journey hasn’t followed a conventional path. Before entering the nonprofit sector, I worked in the mortgage industry for ten years and then transitioned into sales and marketing as digital advertising was just beginning to evolve. But first, directly after high school, I served in the United States Marine Corps, an experience that instilled in me the discipline and determination that continue to shape every aspect of my life. Now, as a proud mother of adult children and half of a true partnership in marriage, I’ve found that life’s greatest achievements often come from building and nurturing relationships.
But perhaps what surprises people most is my passion for powerlifting. While I’ve been a lifelong gym enthusiast, I discovered competitive powerlifting in my late 40s – proving it’s never too late to find a new passion. Now at 56, I compete in the M2 (50-59) category, and I’m just getting started. My sights are set on competing well into my 70s and beyond. The barbell has taught me that limitations are often self-imposed, and strength comes in many forms.
When I’m not at work or in the gym, you’ll find me creating, writing, and losing myself in books. This website serves as both a professional portfolio and a personal chronicle – an amalgamation of the things that make me who I am.
I consider myself fortunate: I have work that fulfills me, a sport that challenges me, children who make me proud, and a marriage that uplifts me. Life is a continuous journey of growth and discovery, and I’m embracing every moment of it.
